I like how in both the first one and the second one they made the villain strong but not macho. Really like how Rani's Character brings down the villain. level 1 Some of Ranis dialogue showed that the filmmakers dont have much faith in the audience. She would basically reword things that people just said (such as when she was talking to the doctor. Felt like there was a lot of “telling” being done through her dialogue when there could have been “showing. ” I think she acted well though. On the plus side: Vishal Jethwa absolutely killed this performance. Man, was this guy good! Would definitely recommend watching this movie, if only for Jethwas performance. level 1 Will watch both, 1& 2. Was planning to watch Shokara today but reviews have disappointed me. level 2 I saw shikara its a waste of time level 1 Found it to be very chilling. I had goosebumps for some of the more graphic scenes. Vishal was just amazing! He portrayed the character with great intensity, depth and was simply amazing. His character, too, was really interesting in terms of the back story. The psychologist in me was dying to know more about it. Apart from that, Rani was awesome as she was in the previous Mardaani. I loved that they called out some of the cultural BS about women, gender rights and equality. level 1 Overall, I loved the movie. It had great characters, a compelling plot, and a great overarching theme. At the same time, I wish it were a little less over the top. The villain is near genius, somehow outsmarting the entire police force with very few resources. I feel like the message of the movie would been served better if the situations it depicted were more grounded. level 1 Thought the film was nice, Vishal did a good job but nothing extraordinary as I've heard some people say. Overall it's a good watch and worth watching. level 1 Didn't like 2 as much as 1. Though Jethwa was good, the movie itself could have been better made. level 1 Watched it last night, really one of the bests. The villain was reminding me of Joker from the dark knight. Never ever I have hated a fictional character like that. Rani is definitely one of the bests we have. But saying this the best thing about this movie is that it does not preach about feminism but shows it and it is really so sad to see how women are treated in this country. High time for women to find Durga inside their beautiful souls. level 2 I felt like the interview scene was kinda preachy, not necessarily in terms of its content, but because it didnt contribute much to the rest of the movie. It also broke up the pacing of the movie in a way that felt jarring.

I am shaken and can't believe the horrors some girls have gone through in our society. It is one of the best movies of this year. Hats off to Rani Mukerji. The story keeps you on the edge of the seat throughout the film. Such films should be seen on big screen so that Indian producers come out with more such hard-hitting and thought-provoking films.
